Meet the Maker

Hi! I’m Sky—the owner, artist, and chaos coordinator behind Sparkles “Autistic” Flare.

I’m a queer, transgender, autistic and physically disabled creator who believes art should be expressive, accessible and unapologetically different. I create handmade jewelry, accessories, artwork and other delightfully unexpected things from my home in Ontario.

SAF began with my love of creating, but it grew into something much bigger: a way to celebrate neurodivergence, support queer and disabled communities, and make self-expression feel more welcoming. Many of my creations are one of a kind, and because they are handmade by a real human—not produced by a factory—small variations and imperfections may occur. That is part of what makes every piece unique.

The name Sparkles “Autistic” Flare was inspired by my black Lab, Sparkle—the Muse, Inspiration and Our Reason. She is my service dog in training, my constant companion and the furry face behind the business. 🐾

Although SAF is primarily run by me, I’m supported by Jaycee and Mike, who help with everything from markets and supplies to crafting, website updates and keeping me grounded when things become overwhelming.

When you support Sparkles “Autistic” Flare, you aren’t just purchasing something handmade. You are supporting a disabled autistic artist, a small queer-owned business and a mission built around creativity, community and unapologetic self-expression.

Thank you for helping this strange little dream continue to grow. 💜🐾✨
